I just picked up a copy of Green Lantern: Blackest Night #'s 1 & 2, and I'm a bit curious; WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE DC UNIVERSE?!? It's probably been about a year since I've picked up a DC comic, and you mean to tell me that within that time, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm, The Elongated Man (OK, so maybe it wasn't ALL bad), Jean Loring, Dr. Fate and many others have been killed?!?! And furthermore, Barry Allen is back?!?
I've always been more of a Marvel guy, but I used to pick up Batman, JSA, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and various "event" titles such as Identity Crisis, Justice, Infinite Crisis, 52, etc. After a while, my monthly comics tab started to rise, and some stuff had to go. I know I missed everything that happened in Final Crisis, and that's probably when alot of this occured, so I guess I'm gonna have to catch up through the trades. If anyone has any advice on good stuff that I should pick up to get me up to speed, I would love to hear it.

Actually, my dog found it, and I picked it up and brought it home to chase my wife around the house with. This is one of the things I love about living in Maine; No Poisonous snakes! However, the damn thing did poop on my hand.
