I'm Putting Part of My Collection Up For Auction!
In order to raise money to get my social network off the ground, I am parting with a section of my epic comic collection. First up is my ENTIRE run of Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man issues! My run starts at issue number 4, featuring the 1st Sandman appearance, and stops at issue number 38. There are 25 pieces in all, including plenty of key issues; 1st Green Goblin, 1st Scorpion, 2nd Dr. Octopus and many others! Most have a very low opening bid of $19.99, with a few as low as $14.99 with NO RESERVE! It pains my soul to part with these, but I'm hoping I will have enough money to buy the entire collection before too long! The pics I added are of the actual issues I am selling.

More Shameless Self-Promotion...
I know, I know - I've been slacking big-time on my posting duties (My son reminds me daily), but I've been super-busy on my other baby; Planet My Town. In fact, I was recently interviewed by the Sun Journal about the site, and the article hit the papers today. I'm really happy with it, and I must say that I'm alot more handsome in black & white ;-) But seriously, I'll get back to posting today.

Just Got My Copy of "Mail Order Mysteries"...
And the only mystery I can see is how can so much awesomeness cost so little?!? I bought my copy from Amazon for $13.00 and $4.00 shipping, and for that price quite frankly, I didn't expect to be blown away. Luckily, Kirk Demarais didn't let me or my inner child down!
The book is very reminiscent of a Chip Kidd venture (Chip did give a glowing review on the back) with it's excellent photography and brilliant close-ups of comic book art in all their 4-color glory. I also love how the text is set up, with each item broken down into a ; "what we expected", "what we got" and "customer satisfaction" category.
Like Kirk, I too had parents that wouldn't let me spend my hard-earned cash on these "rip-offs", and am grateful that I can now see what I missed, both good and bad! You can order your own copy here!

I Love This Stuff!
My buddy Kirk over at Secret Fun Spot posted this article on Trimper's Haunted House in Ocean City, MD, and it got me thinkin'; how cool would it be to travel around the country and visit every dark ride there is?!? I could even do a big, glossy coffee table book on my adventure with tons of pics and the full history of the "Dark Ride". And I'm not talking about the walk-thru rides with actors, but the classics that were part roller coaster and all soil-your-britches full-on TERROR! While the walk thrus' are scary, there's just something about being strapped into a cart and not being able to slow down or stop that really scares the crap out of me! That, and the fact that I don't like to be touched by strangers. Here is a scare by scare journey through Trimper's classic ride;
I can remember being 4 or 5, going to the Fair, and staring up at the massive metal haunted house with garish colors, terrifying art depicting vampires, werewolves and zombies covering every square inch of the exterior and monsters popping out of windows, daring you to come closer. I remember trying sooo hard to summon up the courage to get in line, then chickening out just before they took my ticket, then getting back in line and finally taking my seat in one of the carts. At this point, I was practically jumping out of my skin, but that didn't compare to that horrible feeling you got when those metal doors slam shut behind you, the darkness engulfs you and you realize that you may have just made a horrible mistake. After emerging alive yet terrified, with your adrenaline coursing through your veins, I knew right then and there that I was hooked for life! Eventually, I would love to design my own dark ride and open it to the public and rent it out for parties. How cool would that be?!?

The 10 Funniest Moments in Film History!!!
#10.) "Fax Machine Beat-Down" from Office Space. Anyone who's ever served hard time in a cubicle can easily relate. Whenever this movie comes on TV, I don't care what's going on - shit stops.
#9.) The "Witch" scene from Monty Python & The Holy Grail. My wife does not get English comedy at all, but this is one of my all-time favorite flicks!
#8.) "We're goin' STREEEAAKING" from Old School. I love everything about this movie, but the streaking scene really cinches it for me.
#7.) The "Diaper chase scene" from Raising Arizona. "Boy, you got a panty on your head" is still my favorite line of all time!
#6.) "Mr. Chow in the Trunk" from The Hangover. I know, I know - 2 naked men on the same list, so I must be gay. Go ahead, get it out of your system.
#5.) The "Food Poisoning" scene from Bridesmaids. Proof that women can go toe-to-toe with any man when it comes to the art of the gross-out! "Look away, look away!!"
#4.) "WE'VE GOT A BLEEDER!!" from There's Something About Mary". The bar for gross-out comedies was set here.
#3.) "Flounder Kills a Horse" from Animal House. It was damn hard trying to pick a favorite scene from this masterpiece, but the look on the horse's face when the gun goes off is simply priceless!
#2.) "DOODIE!!" scene from Caddyshack. I apologize for the poor quality, but every decent clip couldn't be embedded!
And the funniest moment in movie history is.... wait for it.... the "prank call" scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off!! Rooney's face when Grace tells him "Ferris Bueller's on line 2!" is pure comedy gold, and the rant that follows is beyond measure!

Nokia apparently feels like the smart phones we have today aren’t rubbery or flexible enough to take us into the future, so they are introducing a design that will change the way we use, and touch, our phones.
Called the HumanForm, this rubbery surfboard shaped device is virtually unbreakable, has twist control functionality, and will supposedly allow us to feel textures via “electro tactile technology”. I don’t know about you, but this phone makes me want to teach a squirrel how to ride it like a surfboard!
